Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mommas out there. Whether you are a mother by biology, by adoption, or by proximity, you are the backbone that holds families together. You are the fierce female who is exemplifying all that women can do and/or be for our girls. Because of you, our boys are learning that strong females deserve respect and admiration.
This morning, I woke up and cooked a breakfast of waffles, before going out for a 20 minute jog while my daughter and husband “decorated” our living room for Mother’s Day. I plan on spending the day with my small, nuclear family, not stressing over anything, enjoying the beauty of this spring day. I take today to make sure that my soul is nurtured so that I can, in turn, nurture my family.
Whatever your day looks like, I hope that it nourishes your body and your soul. I hope that you take a moment to appreciate those who call you “Momma”, understanding that you are the example they follow. I hope you take some time for you, because you deserve it.
Mother’s Day is a day where we can all appreciate the nurturing that women do, often forsaking their own comfort/sanity/desire to make sure the needs of those around them are met.
Know that you are loved. Know that you are powerful. Know that you are enough. Happy Mother’s Day.
